i have a 2000 xj and the motor went yest i have no idea what to do now i have my 94 xj not sure if that motor will work maybe u guys will kno or just give me some thing ud do if this happened to u thanks this dayyyyyy suckkkksssssss

What happened to it? Rod though block or did it just quit?

its just about to go u can hear it pounding around in their and feel something smackin the bottom of the oil pan

how is the oil pressure? have you had any tranny work done recently? May also be a cracked flex plate... I know it is best to assume the worst and hope for the best but IMO might be good to check out all options before pulling the motor...

i dont really feel like starting her up again an no on tranny work the noise is comin from the pass side of the motor its pretty loud

I bet it's a broken flex plate, not a blown engine. For the crank or rods to be smacking the pan, you WOULD know for sure the engine is blown and have a huge oil/water mess and rough running.

I still think you should check the flex plate.

ok ima tryin to explain this as best as i can i was at the shop and were looking at it and just put a new fun clutch on it but the noise was their to days ago then when he heard the noise he watched as the pulley off the water pump would stop then goo then stop again it a new water pump only a month old

The water pump pulley stopped? Is this something the mechanic told you?

and one thing not really sure but met help us all out but wheres the flex plate and dose it do thanks not really in to motors

The flex plate connects the crankshaft to the transmission's torque converter.

Do you have the Jeep in a shop? Is the mechanic telling you the engine is blown?

not now it was at my buddys dads shop hes been workin on cars 4 30 years an said its not blown about but its just about to go

and said its one of the shafts most like ****ed up and the jeep has 200k on it now the ? is should i take it back over their and take it all apart and fix it up
