Looks like I have a blown gasket. What's the best way to go?

which gasket? head gasket? it would help if you let us know what engine, and year you have. not to be an ***, but your question would be like saying "what tires should i buy", and not say what kind of car you're driving

I think its time for you to find a replacement... Try to do some price comparisons before you get one...

Listen to this man.

But you MUST provide us with more details to help you accurately. Any testing done yet? A simple compression test is the best test for a blown head gasket. Low readings on two adjacent cylinders usually confirm the gasket being bad.

You can blow a head gasket on any engine, but with the 00-01, a cracked cylinder head is far more common because the 00-01 have the "infamous" 0331 cylinder head, with a known casting defect between cylinders 3-4.

Pull the valve cover, with a good light, perform an inspection between cylinders 3-4 and look for cracks. They can be small.

Mine cracked, there was no visible signs, until i got it to the machine shop, and they cleaned it up and checked it. it had 3 small cracks on the block side of the head, valve cover side had no signs of damage. check out clearwater cylinder heads in FL. they ship anywhere, good heads, and great, fast service. good luck with yours, i'll be putting my 4.0 back together as soon as i have the title for it!!
