Default Blowing freeze plugs!!

I have a 2000 Cherokee 4.0L and we have had problems with it blowing freeze plugs. It has blown the same one twice and another one once. The mechanic said he doesn't have a clue what the problem could be we recently replace the water pump and the radiator looks like it's full of rust or stuff that looks like red clay. So flushing the radiator is next but I don't know if that will fix my problem or not any advice is appreciated

Have the motor flushed. You MIGHT have trapped water and as it heats up, it blows out the freeze plug.......?? Maybe? Id def get the motor flushed though especially if you have as much crud in your radiator as you say you do.

Are they actually popping out of the block/head or leaking from corrosion? Would think they would hold pressure well in excess of a properly functioning 15-16lb rad cap. Re-built motor? Sounds like faulty freeze plug install/cooling system neglect.

How about combustion pressure entering the cooling system through a blown head gasket?

that would probably be puking frothy coolant out of the overflow bottle way before it blew freeze plugs out...
