So my blower motor is randomly cutting out on my 2001 XJ. Doesn't matter what speed it is on. It started late in the Fall, but is now happening at a greater frequency. My initial thoughts are failing motor, bad switch, or bad climate controls but I'm not sure. Anybody have any expertise in this area? Its the middle of winter here in Indiana and I can't afford to go without heat. Let me know thanks.
ok. the best way to check if its you blower moter is to disconect the harnes from the motor. then , using two jump wires, put the green to the positive of your battery and the black to the negative of your battery. let the blower run for as long as it takes for it to normally cut out. if it doesn't cut out the it may be your switch. go to a junkyard and try to switch them out. if none of this works then get ready for a long weekend of chasing down wiring.lol
