Default Blower Motor keep blowing fuses

Hey all,

So recently on a hunting trip my blower motor stopped working in my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Found the blown 25 amp fuse in the block and replaced it. I went and switched the air on with the fan on the low setting and the fuse blew instantly. If the jeep is not running the fuse doesnt blow. If the jeep is running but the heat is "Off" then the fuse doesnt blow either. I have a fairly new Blower Motor and Resistor (less than a year). If I unplug the Blower Motor and put power to it, it runs perfectly. This sounds like a dead short between the fuse block and the motor to me. What should I check first? Wires or the Control Panel Switches?

when on the highest fan setting the BMR is bypassed, see if you can put the switch on high with the engine off, then start engine to see if it blows the fuse, if not, the short is between the switch and BMR or posibly even the switch. There is a relay in the system as well - have you checked that?

Sounds more like a chaffed wire that is rubbing somewhere creating a direct short.
