Default Blower motor isn't working...

There's a million topics on this subject already, I thought I'd post something fresh just to see what people say.

Here's the problem...

I recently purchased a 98 Cherokee Sport 2 Door. It runs great but the douche bag who owned it before me was an idiot. First he installed some stereo system and fog lights and did such a bad wiring job that it caused the battery to COMPLETELY drain overnight.

Next he put some CD player in the car and again the wiring was so crappy that somehow the CD player wouldn't go on and off without pressing buttons on it other than the power buttons.

So, tonight I go to the auto part store and get a new battery. I install it, start the car up, but guess what happens now? When I turn the blower motor fan speed up and down it doesn't work AT ALL.

I checked the fuses and the fuses are fine, none of them are blown. The only thing I can possibly think of is the blower motor resistor. However, when I do a search it seems like a faulty blower motor resistor would cause the blower motor to work at high speeds but not at low speeds. Mine doesn't work at ANY speeds whatsoever.

So, I'd love to hear your thoughts and input on this matter. I don't know what else it could possibly be!?

I'm having the same problem. I tested my blower motor with 2 wire leads directly from the battery to the connector on the blower motor. Mine did nothing so I'm going to replace it. Try testing it to see if it works.

I had an issue with my past '97 where the blower motor stopped working. The motor worked on testing. Turns out the issue was with the plug where it connects to the motor. I made a replacement using connectors and it worked fine after.

Oh, it gets better... Now I found out why my blower motor isn't working. Check out my new thread on the topic.
