Default blinker

a few weeks ago my blinker started not working all the time. i didnt think it was a big deal until a couple days ago when it stopped working all together. i checked all the wire and i think ive got it figured out that its the blinker switch assembly. i ordered one today that should be in tomorrow morning. has anyone had to replace this part before? is it hard to replace?

Is it one blinker or all of them? If it's one then thats probly not your problem. There is a harness under the air box that gets corroded.Pull it apart and spray some electrical cleaner in it,then put di-electric grease in it and put back together and presto, fixed.

What year XJ you working on? 84-94 requires that you remove the steering wheel and lock plate just to get to the switch. 95 and up only requires that you remove the covers off of the column, but you will need the proper Torx driver to remove the two screws.
