A bit different heater problem (I think)

Repairs made so far: New blower motor resistor which solved the blows on 4 only issue as expected.

Installed missing vacuum ball canister.

Lines under the hood have been inspected from canister to firewall.

Is there vacuum present into ball and out of it to line on firewall woth engine running ?

Thanks for all the suggestions and information. Does anyone have a photo of the vacuum ball hooked up. Since it was totally missing when I acquired the xj I'm not 100% sure I have it hooked up properly.
