binding front end??
ok got a buddy with a 97' XJ. he just got his auto trans replaced. he burned the clutches in the case. he got it installed by some guy who just takes stuff apart and back. now all bolted up his 2WD light is on and his check engine light is on too. also when he steers full right or left his wheels lock up. im at a loss to what is going on with his rig. thats why im posting this. anyone here with some wisdom i would greatly appreciate it. thanks guys.

When you say the wheels lock up you mean like breaks locking up or like it won't turn sharply.
If it's the second case it might somehow be locked in 4wd? I found out today that you have to make wider turns in 4wd due to the way the front and rear drive shafts lock together. Front wheels spin at the same speed rather than one wheel going faster in turns.

I didn't know anything about driving in 4wd and now I know its not a good idea to drive on dry pavement lol.
