Default bfg km2s suck

Just a comment. Has anyone else who has formerly used the old KM (dog bone pattern) bfg mud terrains and then switched to the km2s, and found that the km2s not only wear really fast compared to the KMs, but aren't as grippy?
I live in southern AZ and when I go through deep sand, I'm a lot more likely to lose traction as compared to the old KMs.

BFG! Bring back the old KM pattern tread! KM2s SSSSuck!

this is the only time that i have heard that the km2s have been terrible. i used to have a set and they were amazing. i never really was in sand tho. i was always in mud and snow year round. mine had lasted me 2.5 years before i traded them. when i traded them they had 50% left. i did notice that they wore out really fast if your front wasnt aligned properly. i had to do an alignment probably once a month and rotated them often.

KM2's are definitely better then KM1's. And yes, I have run each.

KM2's are great tires, sorry you had a bad experience with them. In the future, such posts belong in the general section.

Im finding it hard to believe you notice that big of a difference between the two tires in sand

I totally agree , i ran the original km's year round and loved them, tried a set of km2's and they sucked...couldn't stay balanced, wear very quickly, and they were not any better for traction. I sold them and pruchased a new set of bfg at's ....

additional siping in the km2s are garunteed to make it grippier than km1s
and additional compounds in the rubber iirc are in the km2s making them last longer.

i think you are mistaken in thinking km1s are better

Neither tire was designed for sand, they are two square. Sand requires wide and aggressive sides so that when aired down it "floats" over the sand. Mickey Thompson among others work well.

Wow CWoot, spotted you at Hanover CT in the mid summer.
I'm runnin older set (new to me deal) on the rear, have been very satisfied with the ride, wear, traction, even in the breif winter weve had so far. Good feel in the woods. Not yet tried in the mud, kept my wranglers for that. Ill inquire of buddies on their experieces.
