Best oil for high milage
I am a Valvoline man and love the Max Life HM in mine, 210,000 miles on mine. I think a good name brand oil with a quality additive would be just as good though. Just shy away from the no name oils though.

I live up in Minnesota and took a trip to Florida this February (About 1300 Miles one way) and I had been using Mobil 1 High mileage 10W30 and it worked amazing. I didn't burn any oil on the way there or back. I believe that Jeep had about 105K on it.
I wouldn't call 105k "high mileage" on the 4.0. Oil use should be minimal if the engine is sound using any oil of the right viscosity. Like spark plugs, many people want to believe that this product or that product creates miraculous changes in the performance of the 4.0. Just run a good quality oil and filter and forget about trying to tune your motor by switching brands.

The only down side is that high zinc causes catalytic converters to fail sooner, but I'm not sure there's a big enough difference to worry about it.
The "high mileage" oils tend to have more zinc phosphates in them than the standard oils. That's good for the 4.0, with its flat tappet cam. When the zinc is heated, it lays down a sacrificial layer in the motor that builds up the wear surfaces a little and protects them from additional wear. You'll also see diesel oil like Rotella recommended for the same reason.

I've researched quite a bit on this topic and the two oils that always come up are Mobil 1 HM and rotella T6. I currently use Mobil 1 HM but plan on switching to t6.

I recently switched to Rotella T6 paired with a Wix filter, and my 01' is loving it. I have 215k on my XJ. The oil question comes up frequently and after seeing so many folks recommend Rotella, I had to give it a shot. I have not been disappointed.

I always love people stating their car "loves" this or that oil....
