Hey. First post! Got a 98 with a bad IAC valve. I've cleaned it already but think I need a new one. Prob is, there are a ton of choices and prices that range from 10-75 bucks. Anyone have any luck with some reasonably priced ones?? Thanks for your thoughts!

WELCOME

Been running a Standard Motor Products one for quite a few years now (6-7?) with no issues. In fact I'm using quite a few of their products and am very satisfied. HOPE these links work.

So you guys feel that not buying an Mopar IAC is OK?
I ask cause I have a bored out throttle body that I might put on the Jeep someday.
My thinking was just buy a new IAC, Map Sensor, and TPS.
Put them all on the new throttle body and just swap as a whole.
Buying Mopar of all three is not cheap. LOL.

Yes I do just due to the cost difference and all the good reviews.

It is not really the money but it kinda is. LOL.
What about the map sensor and the TPS?
Thinking the TPS should be Mopar for sure but......

Hey! Thanks for the welcome, for working links, and for the good news that I can save $30+ and get a dependable non Mopar part! I pulled it and cleaned it already but I'm still getting intermittent high idle when warmed up, in park, so I think I'll replace it. For what it is, it's still effed up I gotta drop fifty on it!

The issue I had with the original IAC was a loss of cold start high idle. Cleaned both the t/b and IAC. Fixed the issue for about a month. Replaced the IAC and all has been good since.
Here is a way to test the IAC I found years back. Worked on my '96.

Connections on the IAC:
A B C D
A to D = 40 to 80 ohms
B to C = 40 to 80 ohms
B to A = open
C to D = open

I've had 2 Standard Motor Products last about 6 months to a year a piece, I even got their higher end series and not the T series. I picked up a MOPAR one plus another as a spare for my parts shelf.
