Default best gasket kits

I'm probably going to do my head gasket this summer and I have a pretty bad manifold leak. I was just wondering if anyone had a certain gasket kit that they liked more than the others. On rock auto the difference between the $30 kit and the higher dollar kits seems significant. The more expensive ones cover a much larger area and seem stronger.

The only gaskets I've used in many years are Felpro or Victor Reinz, and they seem to be of good quality.

They were the best cheap option on my volvo when I owned it. They're normally reliable. I was just curious about some of the other brands I have never seen before.

For the cheaper gasket sets go no less than the FelPro's and I guess anytime you decide that you need one its time for the head gasket, go to a machine shop. It needs to be checked to see if it is warped. Then you may have to check to block to see if it is true also.

There was reason that the gasket blew and most of them require more work or it will happen again. Sometimes an engine rebuild just makes better sense.

Another for Fel-Pro. Just replaced every gasket on my engine with one (installed stroker). Great fitment and no leaks after 300 miles. Granted that is not very many miles but I have always used them with great results. Usually for a great many more miles than that. The nice thing to me is how well they fit.
