Just picked up a 90 xj limited with the crazy abs system, the check abs light comes on so I started researching the fourm and found out how complicated these things are. I read that the controller that is under the back seat needs to be positioned a certain way for the abs to work because of a mercury switch in it. The one under my back seat is just laying there. Do any of you guys have a pic showing how to mount it, or which way to position it ? My son has a 90 Larado but someone alreay converted it to regular braking system. Thanks for any info.

X2, the recall will replace the hydraulic pump and maybe the master cylinder, not sure if the BCM is covered under the 703 recall though.

I have an 90 limited with the ABS brake system. When my ABS light came on I found out that a sensor was broken, so I just removed the bulb because the brakes and pump was still good and when the pump goes out I will convert it to normal brakes, but it have hold up now for 5 years and itis my d.d.
So if your brakes still work why not just remove the warning light bulb.

Thanks for the info guys, I might try to remove and clean the sensors first if I can get them off , everyting is rusty on the back of the hubs. The brakes do work, but was just wondering if I could get the abs to work if it's just a sensor, thats why I origionally asked about the mounting of the control box, from what I've read it has to be mounted correctly for abs to work.
