Sorry to bump old posts. I know how that is, but I can't create new threads for some reason. My girlfriend wants me to but a bench seat from a manche in her 94' XJ. I'm not worried about getting it to fit or anything I've got the right brackets, and I'm pretty handy with a MIG welder just need to buy the seat.
Thing is I was wondering if the seat folds back. We're taking it to California over spring break and plan on sleeping in the car some. It's gotta move a little bit, most truck seats do but it needs to fold all the way back so it's sleepable.
Anybody know if it does that stock or if it would be possible to modify it?

the front seat outta the manche would fold slightly as much as 2door xj fronts maybe less but when you fold the back seat to lay level youll have the hump from the part were you put your **** so it wont be flat all whe way and if you took that back seat out youd have a gap and a dip plus i dont know that making a bracket would work steering wheel may get in way of folding front seat all the way down

I'm not to worried about it being flush. If its a little bumpy I can deal. hopefully the hump wont knock it up to high. I hadn't thought about the sterring wheel though. If I dont slide it forward all the way it should probably be alright. Might just go ahead and put it in and see how it lines up first. I'd like to have it anyway so there's no center console between us. If it doesnt work I guess I can just fold down the rear sleep in the back. More space is good space though.
