is it tensioned correctly? I just replaced my alternator and i tightened the belt too much, now it whines horribly when cold as it rubs on the water pump pulley - need to release some tension.
I assume this is your problem also since you replaced the belt with a new one.

What part of the sequence is really noisy.
Best way I have found to isolate a squeaky belt is to spray the pully's one at a time with PB blast or some other lubricate till you no longer hear it. Replace noisy part.
If you are like me and don't want to buy and belt tensioner tool thingamajig.
You can use the twist method and it will get ya in the ball park of the proper tension on the belt.
Grab it in the middle and twist if you can twist more than 90' it is too loose and if you can't twist it to 90' then it is too tight. 90' is just about right.
HTH.

the jumping over a groove is the key here i think.......
the leading edge is probably being guided off making it roll one groove over.
Ck your brackets and make sure they are aligned correctly and nothing is bent etc.

If the belt works itself off the pulley then something isn't lined up like the above guy said.
We gave you a great solution to check why Bump it.
