My XJ for some reason wont start today if it sits for like an hour or more the battery dies i can jump it and runs fine but only after sitting it dies theres no codes or anything but onced jumped it doesnt hesitate to run im stumped any help would be awesome

 

Either the battery itself is bad, or you have a parasitic drain. You would have to hook up an ammeter between the negative cable and negative post, and start removing fuses and when the reading comes back to normal the drain is located in the circuit of the fuse you removed. The key should be in the off position with all lights and accessories off.

 

How old is the battery? It might be time for a new one, they don't last forever.

 

Parasitic drain or dead cell. You've been advised on how to check for the former, there's a writeup by me on how to test for the latter.

 

Battery is year and a half duralast gold second one im one these things suck i found a wire from the PO a wire directly off the positive cable ran to the fire wall but not connected im thinking it was grounding out but not sure i will post in the morning if its dead or not
