Yeah renting them is by far the best idea..but get the strut compressor style..if you ask for coil spring compressors you get the kind that are meant to fit in the middle of the springs and well that's a major pain..the strut style fit on the outside and IMHO are a hell of a lot safer.

 

how do i bleed the brakes.......????

 

There are two methods. First is called gravity method. You fill the MC with fluid and open one front bleeder and hook up a mighty vac and pump it til you get no more air bubbles. close that bleeder. Refill and move on to the next wheel.
Second requires a friend. Fill the MC and have the friend pump the brakes and hold the pedal down. you crack open a bleeder and let the air out. close bleeder and repeat until you get no more air. Keep repeating until there is nothing but fluid. close bleeder, refill MC and go to the next wheel. Repeat on each wheel until the last one and you should have a good solid pedal.

You explanation was pretty darn good I must say..I prefer the vacuum method myself...

 

Yeah me too 'cause I don't often have a pedal pumper. So I use the suck method with my mighty vac.

 

When you bleed your brakes always start at the wheel FURTHEST away from the MC and work your way back. Right rear,left rear,right front, left front.

 

Hmmm I always go just the opposite. What is the logic involved in your method BH? Never really thought it made much difference.

 

alright the lift is on, but the alignment is off so bad its like hell to drive. my tires will be here tomorrow or the next day so after that i can get it aligned. pics are coming.....

 

You can set your toein if you want by your self but if the aignment is coming soon and it is driveable and tires are also on the way you might let them do it all. Glad you got it all together.

Mine doesn't do alignments at all.

 

It's about starting the farthest away from the master cylinder to ensure you get all of the air out of the lines. Because it's easy to trap air in the brake lines.

I have always been told that method also.

 

Maybe that's why it takes me so darned long. Always has. Next brake bleed I wil reverse the order to help shorten my time. See you can teach an old dog new tricks!!!
