I already posted this, but ill post a simpler question since i rambled before. Long story short..
shop is doing front axle u joints . since they will already have all the parts off to do those, would they be able to replace the ball joints with minimal additional work, or will it still be a lot more labor? I plan on asking them this, but I just wanna know ahead of time. thanks a lot guys

.in reality it take removing the tires and 3 more bolts to pull the axles. In order to change the Ujoints. There is MUCH more involved with doing the balljoints. IF they need changing yeah do it you'll save a few minute worth of labor adding the job. Now if you were doing balljoints I would say to consider doing the Ujoints while you are there, just not the other way around.
Don't you pull the hubs to do ujoints?
If so then its the castle nuts on the ball joints and the steering knuckle comes off. Press out the ball joints, press new ones in, reintall knuckles and everything else.
I don't see it being too much work. I'd do it if they haven't been done in awhile. Just get quality replacements.
