OK, got the trouble codes now what??
1997 Cherokee
4.0 engine
auto trans. 4x4
I have two trouble codes PO118 and PO171. The first one has to do the temperature sending with too high voltage going to it. The second one deals with a lean mixture condition. OK, so where do I go from here, change the temp. sending and where do I start with the lean condition???? Thanks for the help, great forum. Dan

Yep. That code doesn't mean "wow that's really hot!" it means the PCM sees the input voltage at full strength being fed right back to it instead of a signal. Look for shorts in the wire before replacing that sensor. That cable bundle goes back to a sketchy spot at the back of the head where abrasion can occur.
