Okay finished the mod and 4wd does work. It does seem a little noisier and to vibrate a little more at higher speed in 2wd.

Actually it seems okay now. A mechanic checked the front end out and said all was good. I have never taken down the front drive shaft. How hard is that?
I do have a new and bigger problem now. I am going to post as a separate thread. I will attend to the drive shaft and double check the u-joints after I attend to leaking clutch fluid. The new problem is worse because it stranded me with no clutch and unable to put in gear.
