bad reception

Default bad reception

i had great radio reception when i bought it then all of a sudden it went bad. so naturaly i figured it was the rust antena so i replaced it this morning. it didnt get better at all is there another conection spot besides where the antena plugs into the stereo. if so where is it and how do i get to it. please help

What did you plug the wire from the new antena, into?????????

Pass side kick panel spring loaded joint remove kick panel can't miss it pull the spring out and put it back together happened to my xj and zj

Did you replace the Arial(mast) or the compete antena? Antena would have required fishing a wire from the fender to the kick panel or radio.

Try the connection fix mentioned above, inside the passenger kick panel and make sure the antena wire is plugged in at the radio also. If that doesn;t help you will need to replace the part that the Mast screwed into or the Radio itself is the problem.

Just under the dash pass side remove kick panel and look for this wire this is my zj the wife has the xj but same thing

No problem I had to pull the spring out on my zj and xj when I first got them cause neither had reception

Did you pull the spring out if you pull it out then put it together and tape it I have had no problem with either jeep and that how I did mine
