Hi guys.. We have a '96 Cherokee Country. Inline 6, around 130k miles. Bought in February and was running great until recently.

First, it over heated.. New radiator, fan clutch and water pump. Overheating has stopped, but now it has a miss that we can't seem to get rid of. Remanufactured distributor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Seemed to be better but still had the wonderful random misfire. Didn't run like it had a miss though. Last two weeks it idles very rough, but it runs fine when it's moving. I'm pretty sure it needs a new cat convertor but is that enough to make it act the way it does? I've searched this site and some others.. TPS, CPS? O2 sensors? I don't have the funds to keep throwing parts at it, but I feel like that's what I'm going to end up doing. Any ideas or similar issues?

twist your fuel injectors to see if one is leaking. i had the same problem, and after new ignition parts, i found it when i did my injector swap.

 

Take it to the parts store and have it checked for any codes. This will give you a direction to start.

 

It's getting the random misfire code and misfire in cylinders 1 and 3..
