bad heater core?
So im leaking water slowly underneath my 94 jeep cherokee 4.0, its coming from under my passenger door, but i do not see any signs of water under my dash, i do have a overheating problem that only goes away if i turn my heat on high. I currently am not running a thermostat, i run my electrical fan at all times, brand new radiator, brand new water pump, new fan clutch, new head gasket. Anyone have a write up how to do the heater core? Might as well do it since its like the only thing left to do it seems like.

My heater core is kaputt, I have two very soggy front foot wells that taste of anti freeze, dead give away symptoms apparently, my XJ in mind, but please bear in mind that I am not be any means an expert, I'm not sure a leak form under the passenger door, but nowhere else, door would be caused by the heater matrix?

Is it really getting that hot? You should probably verify it with a temp gun. I had a similiar issue that I thought was my tstat. The temp would climb all the way to the red when I first started to drive it, no load nothing. The t-stat was opening and it ended up being the temp sender for the gauge on the back of the head not sending the correct temp to the gauge. Can you see that it is physically overheating? Unless you have some major cooling component failure the car should not get that hot when you first start driving it. I doubt the heater core would be causing that much of an overheat.

Heater core is the same as doing an evap core. Unfortunately, as far as I know - I believe you have to disconnect both. Removing the heater core is a pain in the **** job that requires ripping out the dash, and pulling the HVAC box. I just did mine this summer, and it was a good 7-8 hours spread out over two days. Also, if you are doing that, spend the extra $75 and get a new evap core and replace it as well. Trust me, you won't want to do that job twice.

I just bypassed the heater core and put a new rad cap on. And it still overheats. I dont have like a temp gun or anything, but i can say, the water is blistering hot and it goes to my overflow bubbling

Well i had the head off recently about a week ago and sent it to a machine shop, and there were no cracks and it was not warped. Ive had this overheating problem even before the rebuild tho, and it has new freeze plugs, the old ones werent leaking either
