Bad Ground?

My instrument panel seems to go dead every once in awhile. A tap on the shield will bring it back most of the time. What should I be looking for?

Year: 98, 00, 01 and another 01

Model: Cherokee

Engine: both 01 jeeps have viper coil pack

take the panel out. then check the soldering joints on the back for cracks.

Look for any and all connections and check to make sure they're not too loose.
