Bad coolant leak
1997 jeep Cherokee 4x4 4.0I
So I pull into my apartment and look down and see my temperature is way over, I look under the hood And see fluid basically exploded everywhere (could see it all over the hood). So I wait a day and go to fill up the radiator to see where the leak is. I pour about half a gallon of coolant in and it starts pouring out like a steady stream of ****. It looked like it was almost coming from the block. Checked the hoses and they seemed fine.

Dry everything up and have a buddy CAREFULLY and slowly with a funnel pour in some distilled water or coolant while you have a bright flashlight under the car and look for the leak. Gotta find where it's leaking. Could be a hose got loose. Could be busted radiator.
The "coolant everywhere" was probably your radiator cap releasing the boiling overheated coolant and not the leak itself.

Could be anything. Could be a bad freeze plug, could be a cracked or loose hose, could be a bad radiator, could be the water pump, etc etc. Like already said, fill it up and watch very carefully where it's coming from

So I'm not to sure of the name but it looks like its coming from the oil pan almost behind the lowest pulley wheel that the serpentine belt runs on

I'm sure it's leaking from above that and dripping down, because there is no coolant passing through that very area, only oil. So have a look at the water pump thermostat housing.

There is a weep hole on the under side of the water pump. When the pump seal goes out it will leak from there. More then likely that's where it is coming from if you say it's running down the front of the engine.
