bad battery cables?!

Hey, i have my 92 xj i6 and some mornings, it will start, and some mornings it's completely dead. kind of weird but ya. got a new battery and starter, and im afraid i just threw wasted money at it, and im thinking that battery cables are probably next, i just wanted some input before i buy them if anyone thinks it might be somethin else.

It ssounds like you have an open circuit somewhere allowing battery drain..

so, when i was looking at all the fuses a couple days ago, i saw that my antenna didnt have one, i put one in it, and it didnt work, but im thinking maybe the antenna was drawing power? i took it out this morning. this is the first time it died since i got a new battery, so im hoping thats it. damn jeeps cant live with em (without money) cant live without em (too much fun)

this may not be related to your situation at all, but I was having an issue with no power sometimes, but no dead battery. Everythting was fine from the diagnostic check but the battery connections were not looking so good. I replaced them and have not had any issues since. What I did notice is they had red and black paint that appeared to have melted down between the connections probably causing a bad connection. I would check those first, they are cheap and easy to change.

Hi...it could be ur antenna....
it happens to my volvo 240...
at a quiet place....i place my ear near the antenna motor....
I could hear the antenna motor running...pretty vaque
changed to a new antenna....walla....caught the parasite!he he

When you say it's "completely dead," what exactly happens? Do you even get a "click" when you turn the key? Or is it nothing happens at all?
