Hey all, I just upgraded from the stock tire size to 235/75 R15.
Whenever I decelerate or brake, I hear a wobbling noise coming from the front right tire.
These tires aren't that much bigger than the old ones, and I'm fairly certain that I need a brake job in the front.
So, does it sound like I need a back plate, or do you think my impending brake job will fix it?
... Or do you think it might be something else entirely?

Thanks, But unfortunetly I am physically unable to do so. I was just diagnosed with two herniated discs
Regardless, I'll be taking it in to have it looked at, I was just wondering what I was dealing with before I went in.

best advice we can give. Take the tire off and look around. I'd say your brakes and rotars are the problem.
Personal experience as a pizza delivery drive in my new car, didn't know how many miles were on the brakes, but assumed the car dealer would have at least done brakes... til i was metal on metal. Tore up my rotor, which gives me the shakes slowing down.
Check your brakes, tell us, or better yet, show us some pictures, and we can go from there. I really doubt it is a back-space issue. My buddy had a back space issue with a tire on the spare... the rubber rubbed the coil spring and coil seat, and blew his tire with a nice gash the wholke way around in just a few minutes, and that was slow beach driving. (this was on a wrangler, but either way, i thing it is the same set-up)

Well, I needed to get the front brakes done anyway. Now, I'll get them done for free. And an alignment. And a number of other things.
A-holes.
Anyway, the lesson here is this:
If you feel a vibration coming from one wheel, check the lugnuts on ALL FOUR WHEELS, and not just the one you think is acting up.

I was okay. Had that happen on the track when I was still racing, so I knew what to do, but had it been my wife...
I thought the owner was gonna crap himself when it was brought back to the shop.

I bet... When my wife and I were dating, she had come over to my house, we went to back out of the driveway, and hear this noise, I get out the drivers side tire was 90°(passenger side was straight), the shop that did her brakes took the tie rod loose, to access the caliper bolts, but did not re-tighten the nut or at least put the cotter pin back in. She had driven about 100+ miles like this. They should do the brakes for free, and refund you for the previous work. Glad youre ok
