Has anyone else used this stuff? It's made by mothers and i used it liberally on the black trim, bumper caps and such. what a joke.
Is there anything else out there better than this stuff?

I tried it and another product that claimed to be specificaaly made to restore Jeep trim to black. Very little improvement. I finally went to Home Depot and bought Rustoleum for plastic black spray paint and it looks great. Almost no prep work either, just a light sanding and clean it good and spray it on.
Bondo Restore Black. Tape off the paint, and wear gloves. It is a gel. I put on about three coats over a year ago, and it is still black. I got it at Kmart, but Ace Hardware has it here in PA.

Just use Duplicolor bumper and/or moulding spray. Great stuff. Or paint them with Krylon fusion. Prep, prep and more prep is the key to getting them to look good and last though.
Same here, I use it on my stock f150 flares it it looks grey. The key to it is whatever you're applying it to can't be too far gone or it won't work. Ik this bc I tried it on my buddy's flares on the same year f150 with stock flares and they were so oxidized it didn't do a thing. Besides, if they're that bad they should prolly be reprinted anyways.

Definitely interesting, but using Duplicolor, bedliner or paint is 100 times faster and a can of paint is only like $8 bucks. Not sure how much a heat gun costs, then the cost of electricity to make TWO passes over the whole thing. Seems like a lot of work.
I went and bought a heatgun at Walmart for $30. I used and went around my xj. The trim was faded real bad and it seemed to work. I then opposed it with back to black and it doomed faded leaving circle marks everywhere from the heatgun. It looked worse then ever. I recommend just painting it. I plan on doing mine this weekend. I also tried many of the other fixes. (You can find many threads on this) Nothing held up well for me
