Default axles...?

Hey all-

I'm a first time XJ owner, just bought my '91 a month ago. Just to get it road worthy, I've had to replace the water pump and battery- no biggy.

But after the snow we've gotten here in Jersey, I've been using the 4WD quite a bit, and have noticed a clicking sound coming from the front end when I make a turn. When I take it out of 4WD, it still clicks, just not as loudly. I thought it might be the front wheel bearings (maybe I'll just get a whole new front axle)- any thoughts?

if its only when ur turning, first thing i'd check is the u joints at either side of the front axle. then bearings , etc, etc, u shouldnt hafta replace the whole thing ,

dont limit your self to just bearing tho. could very likely be the early stages of u joints. none the less more then likely a simple fix.

if it is your wheel bearings you can get new wheel hubs on rockauto.com for like 50 or 60 bucks.
