Default axle u joints, are they the same as regular driveline u joints?

the parts store tried selling a $20 uj thats supposed to be a differant part than the $8 reg one? whats the deal here?is there a difference? i would rather just buy a regular greasable uj instead of this $20 one the parts computer calls for

i don't quite understand your question.

but your driveshaft u joints should be spicer 1310

and your axle u joints spicer 260x's

i get mine through www.completeoffroad.com

If you wheel, only run spicer brand, anything else is generally cheap crap and you will hate having saved the 12 bucks when you snap one and have to replace it .

Upgrade the driveshaft u-joints to Spicer 5-153x, and the front axle to Spicer 5-760x, then your driveshaft will break before the u-joints will

aren't the 5-153x u-jointw creasable in the cross and the 5-433-1 greasable via zerk in cap? If I am correct in the front DC at the CV you will have to get the 5-433-1 u-joints or experience a bind.

Yeah I aquired a set of ABS front axle shafts.. Can't wait to get them on the jeep..

the question was are there differances in u joints meaning do i have to use $20 ones in the wheels when the driveline ones are cheaper. i figured they were cal universal joint for a reason. but they are not all universal as i found out from the clip locations
