Axle Swap d35 to 8.25
Picked up a 8.25 (29 Spline) for 80 ducks. Put on some disc brakes with the backing plates from a ZJ. Got a few questions and just want to have my plan of action verified in case I over looked something which happens a lot.
Drive Shaft- Got my brothers old drive shaft off his XJ that had an 8.25 in it.
Plan on replacing U-joints, best place to get these is Rock auto correct?
This will work correct?
U bolts- Bought the 8.25 U-Bolt kit off IRO. The U-bolt plates that are on there work from what I've read.
ABS- Do I just have to pull the fuses? (ABS light, ABS solenoid, ABS motor)
or do I have to take the whole system out?
Anything I'm missing or forgetting to do?

Sounds about it. Brake fluid? Lol
I've heard of these trades involving ducks. Usually an affiliate of one party is suspected of being a witch (floats, turns people into newts, even if they do get better, etc)
What did you do for a parking brake lever, the ones I grabbed from the donor are rusted into one piece. Are yours like that or still flexible?

Going to get the kit off MORIS 4x4 for XJ's with rear disc. Think it cost about 50 ducks. It's just the cables. I only used the backing plates from the ZJ.

They have a backing plate kit which looks pretty cool actuall for $250 or something like that - entire plate assembly AND parking brake stuff already attached. Looks like their parking brake levers are $9.99
Well maybe if your wings bent we'd be more serious.
