blown u-joints dont cause death wobble. yes you need to remove the hub to get the shafts out. hub nut is 36 mm.

Supposedly you can do it without removing the hub nut.. by pulling the entire shaft and hub as single unit.. but I have never been able to do it..

lol i tried that saturday when i did my u joints...didnt work. couldnt get the hub loose from the knuckle. only way i could think of pulling it off it is using the hub bolts as push rods on the hub and lightly tap on the bolts to break the hub loose...

nope..but you could ruin the threads on the hubs doing it that way. best way ive found to do it is put it in 4 wheel drive, put it in gear/park. jack front end up, support. remove wheels, rotors, calipers. remove cotter pin, nut cap and spring washer. take 2 foot breaker bar and 36 mm axle socket and bust that ***** loose. (being as you put it in 4 wheel it will keep your axle from spinning, also helps when inserting axles back into tubes) then take flathead screwdriver/ chisel to bust hub loose from knuckle. also i would highly suggest some axle tube seals if your doing your front u joints...

i think he means if the bearings in your hubs are bad itll cause wobble. easy way to check..jack up your wheel and stick a pry bar under it and push up. if it wiggles or clicks or anything your bearings are bad.
