Axle shaft compatability XJ and YJ

Axle shaft compatability XJ and YJ
I was recently given a 3.07 geared Dana 35 diff out of an 89 YJ. I am tearing it down for the brake components. I was curious as to whether the non c clip axle shafts would be a direct bolt in to a non C Clip diff Dana 35 out of an 86 Cheroker.The only thing that concerns me is the length of the axle shaft itself...are they the same?
