how do you find out what kind of axle's your runnin ie. dana35 and so on. Im a complete noob to jeepin so any help is helpful

I thought mine was a D35 untill I did my lift! Then I found out it was a 8.25 because the U bolts for the rear leafs wouldnt fit! I guess I should have known from the limited slip. I don't think they LS many D35's especially in 97+

you got d35. round pumpkin, and rubber fill plug.

chrysler 8 1/4 is more octagon shaped

dana 44 has metal fill plug (easiest description)

Unless the PO swapped it in. All things are possible where Jeep parts are concerned.

i got a dana turdy five and the fill plug is a screw in so that not always the case that it will have the rubber push plug on a 35

Was this done by a PO because I have never seen the rubber plug replaced in a D35.

The early non-C clip D-35's have screw in plugs. But the screw-style plug is lower on the cover than the rubber plug. So its not an el-cheapo upgrade.
