Good day-eve-night,

So. 300k on Ol' Red. Motor out, torn down. off to machine shop with block , crank, and head.

Head cracked, not in normal place ( like the 331), and the head is not the 331...probably due to near death experience I had on I-10 towin a trailer hittin balck ice and jackknifing at 50MPH. maybe.

Block is good honed out .010", crank tho, .030" enhh.

Menawhile,,, preppin engine bay for re-install.....new paint cleanin up etc...

looking at transmission, as I am installing new clutch-slave cylinder etc....

just doin a push-pull turn kinda thing looking at transmission..... and what the heck...!

the main shaft is wobblin like no ones business.... up down sideways etc...


my understanding is that sucker should be quite solid in its housing and roatate smoothly....it still spins smoothly, but so so much wobble, n play.. is this a normal thing? my next post I will attach video.....

but for now, anyone out there who has the experience on these or knows specifically, please let me know... I am thinking I gotta order a master rebuild kit an go after it...... ( gotta find someone with a 4 ton press tho.....)
