AW4 Shifter Indicator Seal?

I need the plastic piece that fits under the shifter plate, sealing the assembly.

If I manage to find one, I'll likely have to take the top of the shifter handle off to install it. PCM manual says to pull up on it firmly; this doesn't make sense as there is the switch/button on top left side of T that is the Reverse & Park lockout.
Thanks in advance to the generous members here; great forum!

That switch is mechanical and it pushes down on a part in the vertical shaft... there are no wires in the t section...I don't remember if you have to release some sort of lock or not ...I haven't had that truck in several years...you might have to rotate slightly and pull

Just took that all apart Sunday. You have to yank on the shifter with every last fiber of your being. Maybe even sit in the back seat to get leverage.

You may be able to slide those plastic pieces into place with the bezel unremoved, but if you can't:
There is a off-white assembly piece that has to come apart under that bezel. It is attached to the bezel with four posts. The off-white piece houses those shifter covers, the gear indicator and the illumination lamp. To remove the connector for the lamp, pull back firmly. There is no retention clip for the lamp wiring harness. When I took mine apart it was already busted to hell at the four post mounts by the PO. So have some plastic modeling glue handy!

Hope this helps. If you need more help, PM me and I can give my cell number. You can give me a call if need be. Good luck! 🍀

So you pull up on the shifter with the button in, or not? Just the top of the shifter comes off? as it's some kind of composite, wonder if some careful heat with a heat gun would help? I took off the faceplate (bezel?) from the console and looks like everything is ok except for the very thin plastic that forms the seal/dust shield. Have no idea what that's called or where to get one.

you never know when a situation with severe bland taste may occur. A tactical BBQ cache can save your life. makes almost anything taste better!

In any case, my 96's little plates eventually messed up and would sometimes leave big gaps uncovered. it would drive me nuts for it to be completely gone.

I found the entire bezel on EBay, used, $30. Slider/seal looks good.
The BBQ sauce is my Granddaughter's secret stash, hands off!

They are listed as 84-96, do you mean newer than 96? Reason?

Hopefully the one you get is the superceded version which is made without that crappy strip and is like the 91 and later with the accordion style.
