AW4 Shift Gate worn?

AW4 Shift Gate worn?
when i got the XJ, it could find park no problem, but the indicator would show all of the other gears are in between. Last night I adjusted the cable so that everything lines up. But the shifter is not locked in. I can still pull it back to between the gears.
