It will disengage the front axleshafts from the differential, no more spinning. You might get slightly better gas mileage and it will make it so you could drive home on a broken axleshaft but for the $1000 the kit costs I dont think it is worth it at all.

I have no issues with them being always locked in.

For 100 bucks? none. 1000 bucks theres a few

You could swap in a d44 from something that has locking hubs but that will cost $100 in welding supplies

alright. first thing.

wtf does an aw4 have to do with this conversation?

second thing...

a set of $100 warn hubs doesn't change the fact that there's nothing for them to mount to, and the locking conversion kit that's out there is $1000. there is NO other way around that.

$750 For that kit doesn't seem too bad. If you have to replace your hubs anyway, they're a minimum of $80 each up to $150 each depending upon brand. So you're really only looking at about $500 for the ability to run a spool in the front end.

But why waste that much money on the d30? For about that much you can graft in a d44 if you have the know how

Heck. When I get around to doing it it will be going under a Jeep with stock suspension. I'm sure the 30 will hold up just fine.

HEHE he just thought he could throw on a set of hubs and that would be it,And the reason he brought the tranny into it is cause he didnt know that its not needed to do hubs that was EASY to figure out.
