Default Aw4 leaking pretty bad

Hi all, I have a 98 Cherokee that is leaking pretty bad in between the back of the oil pan and the transmission. So bad in fact that when I am driving on the highway it hits the exhaust in makes a huge smoke screen.
Transmission shifts fine just loses fluid.
is this a seal around the torque converter area or does anybody have any ideas for me?

TIA

Any idea how hard it is to replace?
Or with my mileage (244k) am i just better off getting a used one from the JY?

yes their is a seal. you have to pull the trans out to replace the trans input seal. some times you will find that wear has occured, but good news is you can get a seal kit that comes with a wear ring. if youre transmission is still going strong, doesnt have burnt or really dirty fluid i would not replace it. you never know what you are going to get out of the junkyard.

anybody in the denver metro area that has done the torque converter and front pump seal before willing to give me a hand?
Ill buy the beer/food. I don't feel comfortable doing this myself and definitely don't have the money to take it to a shop.

Would if I could. It's really not that hard. I've done one of these in a dodge ram. It's more time consuming than anything
