Default Avoid injector swap

Okay so here's the scoop with summer ending and school starting I decided to spend the last day working on my Heep I wanted to install 1999 Ford Taurus Injectors & a bored out throttle body to go along with the CAI. Now I started it and when it came to take the number 1 injector (for me the one closest to the radiator) out it was blown out and very rusted upon remove it had destroyed the port on my fuel rail. So after waiting till today (September 5th) for a new rail, I finally got it and installed now I was given instructions on how to reset my PCM to relearn the new stuff. After that was done I started it up and straight away it revved up to 5K! I've never seen it do that before. Now after discovering a disconnected hose and my TPS Sensor unplugged I reset the PCM again and bam!! 5k so I turned it off and now feel like I really f**ked up bad. Anyone know whats going on??

I have been advised only to reset the pcm if the motor runs very crappy after the swap. It takes time for the pcm to adjust. My 2000 ran fine without a reset.

Sorry I was mistaken. For some reason I thought you said neon injectors. I don't know if the taurus injectors deliver too much fuel.

It's a vacuum leak, not the injectors causing the runaway............

Verify that the vacuum connection at the intake manfold to the CCV fitting on the valve cover is secure. Often this connection is removed to make room for a fuel rail R&R.

Recheck all your work in the intake area.

Like Cherokee said, double check the TB gasket.

When you installed the IAC on the new TB was there a seal on the IAC, where it enters the TB? Is the IAC secure?

Is the rubber "L" connector between the MAP sensor and the intake there?

Recheck all your work in the intake area.

Could the "L" Connector be loose?
