OK, so since it's my day off I finally got around to checking my fan, I hooked it up to a 6v battery and it works. I know it's not kicking on when it gets past 195 because it's been reachig 210 at idle.

I let the engine run, turned on the AC and the fan kicks on when the AC enguages but the AC is kicking on about every 15 seconds, running for about 3 seconds then kicking back off over and over, the fan goes on and off with it. I'm not sure why the AC needs to turn on and off so often or if thats normal it doesn't seem right to me, any ideas on that or is that normal?

Also does anyone know why my fan works with the AC on but not when the temp goes above 195??

I'm thinking of just changing the relay and thermostat but I hate to waste time and money if anyone knows whats going on here. Any ideas are appriciated!

temp sensor in radiator controls the fan. ac compressors kick on and off too. your fan runs with ac to keep ur engine cool cuz the ac kicks heat out the condensor which your fan is cooling.

OK, so I'll change the temp sensor today and see if that corrects it, if not I'm out 16 buck at the worste.

Does your AC kick on and off that frequently? It seems like running for 3 seconds every 15 seconds isn't right, maybe I'm wrong though, the air gets pretty cold so it's doing it's job at least.

I appriciate the feedback, I changed the temp sensor out yesterday so as soon as I run it long enough I'll know if it worked. Hopefully that took care of it, I even splurged and put some new shocks on the lift gate since the sensor was cheaper than a new fan.

Thanks!

Just as I've suspected. Same thing that's wrong with mine, but I haven't changed it due to fear of coolant loss (and subsequently putting another air pocket in the system).

How much coolant did you lose changing the sensor?

What side is the relay on? Drivers or passengers" I'm not looking at it at the moment but I think theres a couple of black boxes with fuses and relays.
I think that it is on the drivers side toward the front corner close to radiator!
