Was browsing around autozone and came across what is called leaf spring assisters. It looks like it bolts on to the top of the pack, Says its to help with saggy springs and help with heavy loads.....anybody used this before? I mean i dont think it costed that much so if it dont work i can just take it off, just wanted to hear from someone who's used it before before i get anything. Only downside i see to it is a rougher ride, but hopin not

It's basically an overload spring and doesn't do anything till you put some weight on it. If you're looking to add a bit of lift it won't give you any.

so if i were to be say hauling a car trailer with a car on it, would it keep the back from bottoming out?

If you are hauling a car trailer with a car on it with a Cherokee you got bigger problems but yes that's what they are for.

I had a set from my Dakota I put on the XJ and it just gave it a rough ride.I don't recommend them.

Na, i know what im doin. We haul alot more than that with our 04 yota with a 4 banger. Of course both my xj and the yota are 5 speeds, if they were automatics then it I wouldnt even attempt it. As long as you go slow and drive like you have double your weight behind you then its ok. And trailer brakes help

thats about what i figured, cant really expect much from autozone suspension components though lol.

Sometimes I forget not everybody's trailer weighs 1800lbs unloaded. We moved it from the my dads yard to the street with a Honda on it with my brother's ZJ and about drug the bumper and needed low range so it wouldn't just spin. That's why I love my Cummins.

It's actually not far from it, a dual axle solid steel trailer with a steel floor. We've hauled like 5000 with the yota before goin over mountains....you just have to go 30 and its not fun going down....

If you want them to tow with then I recommend them.They don't lift it at all but do keep it from sagging when towing.

i'm looking for something to compensate for the whole saggy springs/block/shackles situation i have going on. And found out today that at least 2 of my shocks are going out, I heard the JK shocks work well, do they require alot of fab to make them fit? The stockers just cant hold up to the extra 3 inches

Don't know about the JK shocks, why not just buy 3" lift shocks?

I have a similar problem with saggy leafs, so that when I hit a bad bump with two friends in the back seat, the wheels grind on the flares. I have also seen the leaf spring helpers at Advance Auto, and am curious if they'd solve the sagging problem? As I recall they were only $25, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than new leaf springs. Would they help day to day, or only with trailer towing?
