I have recently purchased a 94 cherokee from a friend which is still all stock,
and was wanting to give it a good going over, drain all fluids and thorough going through before moving forward with any mods.
My question is on the tranny fluid, smells a little burnt and is dark red I am the third owner of the vehicle and it has 150,000 miles and runs great and shifts great. I was told if the tranny fluid was never changed don't change it?
Also I am wanting to do differential oils and tranfer case, just a little tlc.
Any input would be appreciated.

well personally i would just change it (not flush) and change it every 30k and call it a day. Im not a huge fan of letting old tranny oil sit there for too long but that may just be me.

additionally, make sure you change everything else out. dont let it go too much longer.

yes I would listen to kyle a you probably don't need to do a complete flush but if you do it will only take about 9 quarts were as a regular sevice with new oil and filter is about 4 qts. regular maintanence is a must! unless you were to do a synthetic conversion then you would be able to extend your service intervals.
