Automatic transmission noise

Automatic transmission noise
I have been looking for an XJ for a couple months now and it seems that all three automatic transmissions I have test drove, first gear seems to have a growling noise with a very slight vibration. The noise and the vibration go away as soon as it shifts into second. Is this a normal thing for jeep automatic transmissions ?
