Default Automatic trans. swap to el' manuel

Title says it all. Wasn't able to dig up anything via search(I could just be stupid). I've got a 1996 i6 4x4. No extra packages, it was a bare bones government Jeep. Looking to replace the existing automatic trans with a manual. What are my options? What is suggested? Obviously I need to remove the current transmission. Any major speed bumps I could be looking at?

If ya'll need extra specs I'll have to look into getting those for you.

Much appreciated guys and occasional gal!

I gess you tried the in-site search feature? It's absolute ****, I don't even understand how it's so bad. Throw "site:cherokeeforum.com" into Google and add whatever you want and you'll get great results!

True. I'll admit I didn't even Google search. Just searched it here. And honestly I'm probably biting off more then I can chew. I'm good at taking things apart and putting them back, but I don't know exactly what things are and how they work. I get the basics of course though. Though being a good mechanic means actually knowing what the part actually does.
