simply use vise grips or a hammer and tap the underside of handle hard a few times ,it will be stuck ,but will come off without any breaking of parts....lol,i had the problem and figured that out on my own .....wooo hooo!! ,i'm not a smart man(forrest gump)..

What most say is, engage the park brake.. Put lever into 1-2, sit in the back seat and pull. Less likely to break anything.

Im honestly not too worried about it atm. What i am worried about is fighting my Jeep's battle against cancer. I bought a spray today that when you spray it on the rust it turns black. I need to wash the underside with my power washer and get under there. I wonder if there is a place i could get the underside sand blasted... that would make my life easier...

i've wheeled my jeep so hard, that i have pulled my **** off far too often just by giving it chit up a steep incline.
that was when i had my aw4 mod and had to shift manually.

but in the future, before you pull your **** of, be sure to punch yourself in the face first. it softens the blow.
