vents are clear but I will check it again.... the fluid isn't bright red like it should be... do you think changing the fluid and filter would help?

I will check the trans cooling lines and vents. Could a fresh fluid and filter change help? Could the radiator not be cooling the lines like it should. Sorry I ask so many questions but kinda new to tranny problems.... never had any! and thanks for all the input guys!

Fluid should look as new. Has the fluid ever been changed? The "filter" is just a mesh screen so depending on the condition of your fluid you may not have to remove it. Is the fluid at least clear? One other question for now. Engine running hot?

Kinda read my mind.

I thought the thermostat was sticking so I completely removed it. it ran great for a few days until today it done it again. but I was pulling a lawnmower trailer with a kayak on it and some camping gear when it happened. so no the motor cant be getting hot.

Why are you running without a thermostat?

You really should have a thermostat in (195 degree MOPAR). Throws fluid only when trans is under a load? How many miles on your Jeep?

the stat was sticking so I had to remove it so I wouldn't stick on me on the way to work. My intention was to get a new one this week and install it. that's the only reason. There is a new stat going in this week. with a new trans fluid change.

You don't need to change it all at once. With the trans at operating temp remove the drain plug. When it stops draining replace the plug and add 3 3/4quarts of this. NO additives.

Let's see how things work then.

Still wondering why new ATF (and filter) would have fixed that overflow issue. Unless you were overfilled, and refilled with less than what was drained.

Ah well, good on ye, hope it stays good.
