i have a 1989 jeep cherokee with auto trans.. its stays in first gear and keeps blowing fuses. i unpluged the harness going to the trans and it will still blow the fuse .. the trans worked fine till it was parked for a year and went to drive it agian and it wouldnt shift out of first.. im stumped....

 

Check to see if a critter has chewed on the wiring and left you with a short to ground someplace.
