Auto trans fluid confusion
I have to change the fluid in my AW4 auto.
My jeep is a 98 SE with 4wd, np231 tcase.
After searching and reading numerous posts on this and other jeep sites I am completely confused on what fluid to use.
Some use ATF4 and some Dex/Merc3. I noticed many guys have had trouble with ATF4.
In a 98 what fluid is best to use? My jeep has 205+ k on it and runs great right now, but with winter coming its time to change the filter and fluid.
I also see that the same fluid is used in the tcase, what fluid are you guys running in your 97+ AW4's?
